“From the start we worked with the industry to develop the most effective process. Ours is simple, holistic, saves time and reduces errors.”
Customer research so far suggests with a Gas Tag eight minutes can be saved on a standard service resulting in an overall productivity increase of between 10 and 20 per cent.
Return on investment in its subscription-based service is achieved in under six months.
“And that does not include all the time recouped from efficiencies in having reliable, correct maintenance,” points out Durose.
Earlier this year the company began a campaign to get the Government to abolish VAT on safety products like fire doors and carbon monoxide detectors, a drive that has won backing from MPs including Emma Dent Coad whose Kensington constituency includes where the Grenfell Tower fire occurred.
Gas Tag is also looking how insurers might offer discounts to its customers.
Now the business is up for a clutch of industry awards, and it was an approach by private equity house Waterland that led to the recent funding deal, its first investment since coming to the UK and a move that has helped cement Gas Tag’s credibility, says Durose.
This will allow staff numbers to rise from 22 to 34 in coming months as the tech innovator increases its sales drive, considers international expansion and develops new products for the internet of things, safety and utilities sectors.
And while Durose has noticed more concern since the Grenfell fire, he warns: “Compliance is not safety, that’s the message people need to understand.”
