Subaru has priced up the 2019 Impreza, nudging up the sticker by $100 but still sneaking onto dealerships forecourts at under $19k. Pricing for both the Impreza sedan and 5-door has been confirmed, along with new active safety features like Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology.
That uses a set of dual color cameras, mounted up near the mirror in the windshield. They power adaptive cruise control, along with lane keep assistance and sway warnings. They can also help with pre-collision braking, and pre-collision throttle management.
For the 2019 Impreza, EyeSight will be an $845 option across the range, though the 2019 Impreza Limited trim will get it as standard. Subaru will also be offering an advanced safety package, combining EyeSight with blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alerts, and steering-responsive fog lamps, for $1,395.
Each gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine, with 152 horsepower, and standard all-wheel drive. Together, Subaru claims, ther’re good for up to 38 mpg on the highway. A five-speed manual transmission comes as standard on the entry-level Impreza sedan and 5-door 2.0i, priced at $19,480 and $19,980 respectively (including destination).
Alternatively there’s a Lineartronic CVT, which can mimic a 7-speed manual with paddle shifters. It’s available across the range, with pricing kicking off at $20,480 for the sedan and $20,980 for the 5-door.
The entry-level trim gets a 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Power windows, a 60/40 split rear seat, and power locks are standard, too. If you add EyeSight, the instrumentation gets a 4.2-inch LCD and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Premium trim, meanwhile, starts at $22,480 including destination, and only offers the CVT. It adds Subaru Starlink safety and security, black machine-finish alloys, and an All-Weather package with headed front seats, windshield, and side mirrors. The 5-door Premium has roof rails, too, while both body styles get a pair of rear USB ports.
As for the 2019 Impreza 2.0i Sport, there’s a manual option there from $22,195. It gets exclusive suspension tuning, 18-inch machine-finish alloys, a short-throw manual shifter, and Active Torque Vectoring. LED daytime running lights, a black front grill, and body-color rocker panels should help it stand out, as will the trunk spoiler on the sedan. Inside, there’s black cloth upholstery with red contrast stitching, along with exclusive gages.
The Sport also throws in an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, push-button start and keyless entry, leather wrapping to the steering wheel and shifter, and aluminum pedals. A harman/kardon audio system is available as part of an EyeSight bundle with blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alerts, for $2,945.
Finally, there’s the 2019 Impreza Limited, priced from $25,880 for the sedan and $26,380 for the 5-door, both including destination. Each gets the CVT as standard, together with EyeSight, LED headlamps and daytime running lights, and 17-inch alloys. There’s more chrome on the outside, and leather trim on the inside; the driver gets a 6-way power seat.
Automatic climate control is standard, plus keyless access and push-button start, and the 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. Navigation, and the harman/kardon audio system, are options. The Limited also gets reverse automatic braking. Sales of all the models kick off over the summer, Subaru says.
